I followed the community from Imzy (I was mywitfailsme) She/her. You can call me by my name Trenna or my username or any short form of it. I went by Mandy for years from this username I hope to find different experiences with tarot from the members I like tarot as a guide, I like to use it as a way to prompt myself and other to use their own insight to examine their lives. Not as a way to get the answers I've been reading for a long time. I grew up sharing my mom's decks. Except for those 5 years I fell into Christianity and then left. My favourite deck is Revelations. One of the things that I think distinguishes my approach is that I never read the genders of the cards and I don't think of them as say father/mother/etc. I tend to think of them as the stereotypical traits placed on the genders they're based on.
A little anecdote related to that:
Recently my mom did a reading and sent me the cards and asked for my interpretation and after when we were talking about it, she said "Did you see all the men in that reading?" I responded with "What men?" and she was like "All those kings and knights?" Me, "Oh, I don't look at the genders on the cards. You see that there, that was the [personality trait] I mentioned." Mom: "I didn't even see it that way. I saw it as someone else."
